Privacy Policy
CashNest ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the CashNest mobile application ("App").
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide the App's features:
- Account information: email address, name, and username you provide when registering.
- Financial data: expenses, budgets, goals, and split bill records you create inside the App. This data is stored securely and is only accessible to you.
- Contacts: with your permission, we access your contacts solely to help you add participants when splitting bills. Contact data is never uploaded to our servers.
- Location: with your permission, approximate location is attached to split bills to help you remember where a bill was created. Location is not tracked continuously.
- Photos: with your permission, photos you select for your profile picture or receipts. Photos are stored securely and only accessible to you.
- Usage data: anonymous crash logs and error reports used to improve App stability. No personally identifiable information is included.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the App's features.
- To process subscription purchases and verify access to premium features.
- To send transactional emails (e.g. email confirmation, password reset) via our authentication provider.
- To respond to support requests.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
CashNest uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — database hosting and user authentication. Data is stored in secure, encrypted databases. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — subscription billing. CashNest never stores your payment card information. See Apple Privacy Policy.
- Google Sign-In — optional authentication method. Only your Google account email and name are accessed. See Google Privacy Policy.
4. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the App's profile settings. Upon deletion, all personal data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage, and row-level security policies that ensure only you can access your financial data.
6. Children's Privacy
CashNest is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: update inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Portability: export your financial data in a machine-readable format.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
